About the Office
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs assists Wilkes University and its faculty in securing external funding for research and sponsored programs, including grants, contracts, and cooperative arrangements. We help identify potential sources of funding and work with faculty to develop competitive submission packages. We provide oversight to ensure compliance with submission guidelines and work with faculty applicants to secure in-house review of all proposals, which must be complete before submission. A majority of grant proposals are submitted online and the Director of the Office is authorized to electronically sign and submit online submissions on the University's behalf.
The Office also provides administrative service to help ensure post-award budgetary and regulatory compliance. The Coordinator of Grant Compliance works directly with faculty P.I.s and grant managers and is the point of contact between faculty awardees and administrative offices such as the human resources, procurement, and controller’s offices. This assistance frees faculty as much as possible to focus on their funded projects rather than on post-award administrative functions.
