Automatic External Defibrillators

There are now 10 automatic external defibrillators on campus. AEDs can be used to evaluate a cardiac arrest victim’s heart rhythm, determine if shock is needed, and then deliver an electrical shock throughout the chest wall to the heart.

The AEDs are located in lobbies of the following buildings:

  • Breiseth Hall
  • Cohen Science Center
  • Darte Center Theatre
  • Evans Hall
  • Henry Student Center
  • Marts Athletic Center
  • Munson Field House
  • Public Safety Office
  • Stark Learning Center
  • University Center on Main

The AEDs are authorized for use by trained responders in first aid and CPR. All Public Safety officers have been trained to use the AEDs.
