Civil and Environmental Engineering Field Day

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Field Day

Date TBA

Students, parents and guardians are invited to join us for a field day designed especially for accepted students interested in environmental science, environmental engineering and geology.

We’ll travel to the nearby Seven Tubs Nature Area for hands-on field work investigating topics related to water and air quality, stream flow, soils and the bedrock geology.

Parents and guardians can get in on the action too. Professor Brian Whitman, environmental engineer, will lead a tour of sites in the Wilkes-Barre area impacted by coal mining. He will also share information about topics students will learn about here at Wilkes. Parents and guardians can then join their students at the Seven Tubs Nature Area for a complimentary lunch and afternoon field work.

Overnight accommodations are NOT available on campus. Several hotels are nearby for students and families who would like to stay overnight between Accepted Students Day and Field Day.
