Wilkes University, in cooperation with The College Board
will host AP 2019, a specially designed summer workshop for Advanced Placement (AP) teachers. This program is tailored for people who teach, or wish to teach, AP courses in the following fields:
- English Literature
- Environmental Science
- Physics C
- US History
Equal emphasis is placed upon pedagogical and subject content. The courses are designed to accommodate beginning and experienced AP teachers. Each course will review the latest changes and shifts in emphasis in the AP syllabus.
AP 2019 will begin Monday, July 15 with registration and breakfast in Wilkes' Student Union Building -- the Henry Student
Center. Classes will begin Monday morning and run until Thursday afternoon, July 18.
A detailed schedule will be provided upon registration.
Instructors may assign preliminary reading, which will provide background for class discussions. Classes are designed to create an atmosphere rich with peer interaction and individual attention.
The courses offered in AP 2019 may be taken for 3 graduate credits or audited.
To earn 3 graduate credits students must submit additional assignments as directed by the instructor. Students taking the class for credit will also receive 90 ACT 48 hours. All AP 2019 participants will have access to the latest technologies and facilities in each discipline. AP 2019 is designed to be informative, helpful, encouraging, and fun. We hope you can join us!
