Community Outreach within the Personal and Professional Development Program includes:
Social Cyclical Awareness Projects (SCA’s) - Students in the Sidhu School of business work on a social awareness and community service project each year. The students are encouraged to be creative with their projects. The SCA projects highlight the significance of giving back to the community. Neighbors we frequently work with in our community include (but are not limited to):
- The McGlynn Center,
- The YMCA,
- The CEO Foodbank,
- The Domestic Violence Center,
- The Humane Society,
- Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge.
Professional Relations - Students in the PPD program are exposed to networking and mentoring opportunities within the community. Through seminars, students will hear guest speakers from the community discuss their experiences. Through extracurricular groups such CAMP, students will have opportunities to build mentoring relationships with alumni and friends of Wilkes. Through internships, students are able to network and learn on the job.
