Third Party Comments for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

The Passan School of Nursing at Wilkes University will be undergoing an on-site evaluation of its baccalaureate, master's, Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.), and Post-Graduate APRN Certificate programs with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) March 27-29, 2019.  As part of the evaluation process constituents have an opportunity to submit third party comments regarding the qualifications of the PSON programs for accreditation. Written third-party comments will be received by CCNE until 21 days before the scheduled on-site evaluation or March 6, 2019. CCNE staff communicate the comments only to the on site evaluation team. Third party comments are invited in writing to:

Congratulations to the Passan School of Nursing!

Passing Rate

Recent graduates from Wilkes University’s Passan School of Nursing achieved a pass rate that exceeds the national and state averages on the National Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

Wilkes bachelor of science in nursing graduates taking the test between Oct. 2017 and Sept. 2018 achieved a 95.12 percent pass rate.

This exceeds the national average of 88.56 percent and the Pennsylvania average of 92.84 percent. This also marks the highest pass rate of bachelor’s-degree granting nursing programs in Luzerne and Lackawanna counties.


The White House recognized Wilkes' Passan School of Nursing

The White House recognized Wilkes' Passan School of Nursing for teaching student nurses how to prevent prescription drug and heroin abuse. Wilkes is the only school in northeast Pennsylvania, and one of just 191 school nationwide, to be acknowledged by the Obama Administration.

The Clinical Nursing Simulation Center (CNSC)

The Clinical Nursing Simulation Center (CNSC) is part of the Passan School of Nursing at Wilkes University.    The mission of the CNSC is to provide structured learning activities in a simulation environment that will allow for the development and evaluation of clinical judgment in the student nurse.
