History, Languages and Philosophy
We offer majors and minors in Spanish, philosophy and history. Courses you can take include U.S. history, European and world history and Spanish and French language and culture.

Study Abroad
We offer annual study abroad options that range from weeklong study tours to semesters and summers abroad. Our Spanish and history clubs offer the chance to mingle with students sharing similar interests, and the history and Hispanic honor societies recognize achievements in those majors.

As a history major at Wilkes, I’ve enjoyed learning how to think more critically about history and how to research historical events. Studying history at Wilkes was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

Earn your PA Secondary Teacher Certification
Both history and Spanish majors can earn Pennsylvania secondary teacher certification. Our programs offer students the chance to do conventional classroom work and internships and to see the world while learning.
