Global Cultures Minor

The global cultures minor at Wilkes University positions you to understand the multicultural world, to act ethically and effectively within it, and identify what further study is needed to become a leader on the global level within your discipline. You can tailor the curriculum to expand cultural knowledge in your existing major course of study.

Coursework

This minor allows you to build a unique curriculum leading to a focus in one global culture or a related issue, and to integrate that knowledge into your career plans or further knowledge in this area through graduate studies.

As a global cultures minor, you will take 18 credits, including courses in these categories:

  • Understanding Cultures of the World
  • Philosophical or Political Differences
  • History of Cultures and Global Forces
  • Interacting with the World, Environment and Sustainability

Each global cultures student is required to take GC 301: Global Cultures: Issues and Perspectives and at least one (1), but no more than two (2), foreign language courses of any level.
