Dear Colleagues,

If you are an instructor and have a student who is approved and registered for academic accommodations with Disability Support Services, please refer to the information below:

Academic Accommodation Requests

Once students have completed their accommodation plan for Fall 2020, faculty accommodation letters will be completed and emailed to professors by Sandra Rendina, Coordinator of Disability Support Services. This will list all academic accommodations that have been approved. Once testing begins, students will be required to notify you via email (or any other approved communication) the request for testing accommodations 2 days prior to the scheduled test/quiz. This is for in-person and online courses. Please refer to the student accommodation letter for specific requests. If students are inquiring about additional accommodations, please have the student contact me directly (katy.betnar@wilkes.edu).

  • If you have students request accommodations for your course that are NOT currently registered with disability support services, please have the student contact me directly (katy.betnar@wilkes.edu).

In Person DSS Testing Procedures

*Due to COVID-19, the DSS office will be taking measures to reduce the amount of face-to-face contact with our testing accommodation procedures. If possible, we are requesting professors to email all tests/quizzes that will be administered in Conyngham Hall to sandra.rendina@wilkes.edu. All test/quiz attachments will be deleted after printed. We will scan and email all tests/quizzes back to you once completed by the student. We do understand that there may be exceptions to this process - if you are unable to email your test to our office, please email sandra.rendina@wilkes.edu in advance to make alternative arrangements.

Extending Test Time in D2L for Online Tests/Quizzes

Also, please see the attached instructions from OTTL on the process to extend time for quizzes/tests if you are using D2L for those assessments. Any questions related to this technical function, please email OTTL (ottl@wilkes.edu).

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. I will be available to support you in any way possible.

Thank you,

Katy Betnar
