Admissions and Financial Aid Committee

The Admissions and Financial Aid (AFA) Committee is tasked to review and recommend changes in the rules and standards related to admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and faculty participation in admissions activities for all undergraduate programs.

The committee is comprised of six full-time faculty members that serve from September to May and meet on a monthly basis. The committee reports to the faculty at large.

Responsibilities

The Committee will:

  1. Act as a liaison between the Vice President of Enrollment Services and the Executive Director of Financial Aid and the faculty.
  2. Review and approve undergraduate admission standards.
  3. Review and affirm financial aid policies.
  4. Formulate, with the Vice President of Enrollment Services, strategies that will attract qualified students.
  5. In October of each year, report activities and statistics relating to admissions and financial aid to the faculty, with specific emphasis on the current academic year.

Composition

Six faculty members elected at large with at least one member from each academic unit, as long as some member from that unit stands for election; a student member appointed by Student Government; and the following ex officio members: the Executive Director of Undergraduate Enrollment Services and the Executive Director of Financial Aid.
