Dr. Larry Kuhar is chairperson of the Humanities Division at Wilkes University, where he has served as an English professor for 24 years. Dr. Kuhar’s teaching and research areas are postmodernism, contemporary American literature, poetry, and technical and professional writing.
Dr. Kuhar recently read nine original poems at the Pennsylvania College English conference (2012) but is even prouder of the fact that one of his advisees read his poem “Old Dog,” at the Wilkes University Baccalaureate Service (May 2012).
Dr. Kuhar’s research includes the production of his one-act play (The Luggage) and a national presentation on “bridging the gap” between the academic work in the Humanities and the needs and expectations of employers in business and industry. Dr. Kuhar has served local business and industry over the past 20 years by working on such topics as effective workplace communications, leadership communications, culture change initiatives, marketing strategies and workplace diversity.
Larry lives in Moscow with his wife, Debbie, and three children, Brandon, Kendra, and Keira (and their dog, Nala). He has served the North Pocono community by coaching boys and girls in soccer, basketball and baseball for the past 14 years.
