Charles Unice, a native of Shavertown, Pennsylvania is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the Curtis Institute of Music. Charles Unice's voice teachers have included John Vaida, John Maloy, Marlena Malas & Spiro Malas. Vocal Coaches have included Mikael Eliasen, Brian Zeger, Craig Rutenberg and Dr. Rick Hoffenberg.
Mr. Unice Young Artist Programs include The Chautauqua Institute, Portland Opera, St. Louis Opera Theater and the Pittsburgh Opera Center where he has performed in compromario and leading operatic roles. Charles Unice, as a seasoned concert musician, has sung to great acclaim solos in Handel's Messiah, Bach's Magnificat and St. Matthew's Passion, Mozart's Requiem Mass, Faure Requiem and Brahms Requiem. He has sung several times at Carnegie Hall with the Opera Orchestra of New York making his debut in 2004. In 2006, he debuted at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Mr. Unice sings throughout his own community appearing regularly with The Robert Dale Choral, The Marywood Chamber Singers, The Choral Arts of Luzerne County, The Pennsylvania Lyric Opera Theatre, Mostly Opera and the Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre. When not performing Charles Unice employs much of his time teaching Voice/Piano and Performance techniques throughout Northeast Pennsylvania.
