"In the classroom, Dr. Bianco has been very inspiring for me and has always helped to keep me involved."
Student name: Anna Mitchell
Major: Spanish/International Studies
Year: Graduate - 2012
Career Aspirations: I would lke to attend graduate school and further my studies.
Activities On and Off Campus: Tennis Team, secretary of the Spanish Club, Adventure Education Club: rock climbing.
Most worthwhile leadership experience: When I was in high school, I organized a tutoring program for first graders. We tutored students twice a week during the school year. I had the opportunity to see the kids grow and become more proficient as the year went on. It also allowed me to become more patient by working with students who had trouble reading and I learned to work with my peers in a working environment.
Best thing about being a student at Wilkes University: The teacher interaction with the students. Being on the tennis team, the coaching staff is involved with players academically and on the court.
In the classroom, Dr. Bianco has been very inspiring for me and has always helped to keep me involved. I always feel I can talk to her and she’s always extremely supportive.
Why Wilkes: After talking to Chris Leicht (Wilkes University tennis coach), it came down to tennis and being closer to home. It's nice to be part of a community.
