“A visual translation of sudden disability through a creative lens”
Creativity is a driving force in forward thinking, leadership and innovation. It picks the human spirit up when it’s down and it fuels the forward advancement of human kind. The visual translation in this study joins a physical act to the cognitive and behavioral process of coping with and communicating the lived experience. The experience is a journey of creativity regeneration. The method is a qualitative phenomenology that combines portraiture and photovoice.
Christian Laing - Mathematics & Computer Science
“Analysis of RNA tertiary structure and tertiary motifs: Insights into RNA prediction”
In recent years, many exciting discoveries have exposed the versatility of RNA. It is clear now that the structure-function relationship that exists within RNA molecules emphasizes the necessity to build more efficient computer programs to predict their structure. In this talk, I present a study on solved RNA molecules, which aims to determine structural patterns and design rules that can help predict their 3D shape.
The Faculty Forum will be held on Friday October 18th at 4:00 pm in the Cohen Science Center Conference Room. The Forum provides a regular occasion to informally gather and learn about the scholarly and research activities that your faculty colleagues are pursuing. Doors open at 4:00 pm and brief presentations and Q&A will begin at approximately 4:15 pm. Thanks to Sara Moore and Christian Laing for their participation as presenters.
Light refreshments will be served in the spirit of TGIF!
