Maslow Faculty Reading Series Highlights Graduate Creative Writing Program Residency, Jan. 6-10 at Wilkes University

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (Dec. 3, 2012) – Wilkes University’s Maslow Foundation Faculty Reading Series will be held nightly from Sunday, Jan. 6 to Thursday, Jan. 10. The series, which kicks off the January residency for the University’s Graduate Creative Writing Program, features faculty, advisory board members and alumni of the program. Readings are held at the downtown Barnes and Noble in Public Square, 7 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre and on the Wilkes campus in the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center. The readings are from 7 p.m. each night and are free and open to the public. A book fair is held each evening, sponsored by Barnes and Noble, featuring books for purchase by the authors.

Sunday, Jan. 6: The opening reading will feature the work of poets, fiction and non-fiction writers, including David Poyer, Kevin Oderman, Christine Gelineau, John Bowers, Cecilia Galante,  Lenore Hart, Jeff Talarigo, Nancy McKinley, and J. Michael Lennon.

Monday, Jan 7:  This evening will feature a sampling of films written and produced by Ken Vose, Ross Klavan, Richard Uhlig, Susan Cartsonis, Michael Mailer, and Robert May.


Tuesday, Jan 8: A sampling of poetry, nonfiction, and fiction is planned, including readings from Neil Shepard, Becky Bradway, Kaylie Jones, Rashidah Ismaili Abubakr, Nina Solomon, Robert Mooney, Taylor Polites, and Sara Pritchard.


Wednesday, Jan 9: The work of playwrights Bonnie Culver, Robert Arthur, Jean Klein, Gregory Fletcher, Juanita Rockwell, and Jan Quackenbush will be featured.


Thursday, Jan 10: The final night of readings will celebrate the work of featured alumni, faculty, and advisory board members including Sandee Umbach, Brian Fanelli, Laura Moran, Jason Carney, Thom Ward, and Philip Brady.
