Give the gift of life this holiday season: The American Red Cross Wyoming Valley is teaming up with Best Buy to help maintain an adequate blood supply in our area. All presenting Red Cross Blood Donors in December will be entered to win a 50’’ Sony Bravia LCD HDTV, Apple iPod Shuffle, Garmin GPS, and digital camera.

As part of the Wyoming Valley community, Wilkes University will be hosting a blood drive on December 1, 2009 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm in the Henry Student Center Ballroom. To register to be a donor please visit www.givelife.org search by our zip code 18701 and find the Wilkes University drive being held on December 1^st.  

To prepare for you blood donation prepare a week in advance by  getting plenty of sleep, drinking lots of fluids, and eating foods rich in iron such as nuts, red meats, turkey, beans and even chocolate!
