Sustainability Management Minor

Sustainability is not only vital for our planet; it’s also good business. 

With a minor in sustainability management offered jointly by the Jay S. Sidhu School of Business and Leadership and the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences, students will learn the methods of smart management of natural resources with the goal of both efficiency and profitability. 

As a sustainability management minor, you will take 18 credits, including these core courses:
  • SUS 401 – Introduction to Sustainability
  • SUS 402 – Metrics of Sustainability
  • SUS 403 – Sustainability Implementation
  • SUS 404 – Industry-focused Sustainability

Sustainability management is becoming a growing focus for many organizations that strive to be more environmentally conscious and socially responsible. Leaders in every industry have recognized the value sustainable measures bring to the world, and also to their bottom line. 

As a graduate with a minor in sustainability management, you will be prepared to lead an organization’s efforts to maximize resources and minimize costs. You can put your knowledge to work in such diverse careers as communications, engineering, finance, facilities, health care, and human resources. If you have a passion for conserving Earth’s resources and and dream of a future in the business world, the sustainability management minor is for you. 

The sustainability management minor is available to students majoring in:
  • management,
  • sports management,
  • hospitality leadership,
  • earth and environmental sciences,
  • and environmental engineering. 

Students in the accelerated bachelor of business administration program can also complete this minor.
