Wilkes University

Presidential Search

Dear Members of the Wilkes Community,

After serving the University as President since 2012, Pat Leahy has announced he will be stepping down from his role to pursue his next challenge as President of Monmouth University in New Jersey.  Pat has been a positive force for Wilkes with many accomplishments that have transformed our campus. We are grateful for his service and wish him well in his new position. Paul Adams, who has spent nearly four decades in various roles at Wilkes, has been appointed to serve as Interim President beginning on August 1st.

The Board of Trustees has formed a Presidential Search Committee and has launched a national search for Pat’s successor. Park Square Executive Search has been retained by the Board to assist the Committee in their process.  Park Square has an excellent national reputation for recruiting Presidents, Provosts, Deans and other academic leaders at colleges and universities.

Our goal is to bring in a transformational leader who will continue to build on our impressive recent progress. The search will be national and will seek to recruit a diverse pool of qualified candidates. The Committee has already met with many constituencies on campus, and we have created this website both to ensure we understand your priorities for the next president as well as to keep you informed regarding the search process.

We look forward to hearing both your input and recommendations.

Sincerely,

Dan Cardell
Chair, Board of Trustees
Wilkes University
