Scholarship Opportunity Available for Students of Polish Descent

The Polish Room Committee Scholarship welcomes applications. 

Please note that the essay criteria has been changed from previous years. Also note that last year's recipients must submit a new essay to be eligible for this year's scholarship:

To be considered, Wilkes University sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a permanent residence from Luzerne County must address the following in a thoughtful essay of no less than two pages:

Polish pride is more than traditions, music and great food. History reflects the accomplishments of many great Polish people. Choose one of the following from the list of people of Polish descent: Marie Curie, Frederic Chopin, St. Pope John Paul II, or Andrzej Tadeusz (Thaddeus) Kosciuszko. Explain how this person deepened your appreciation of what it means to be a Polish-American, and how it has or will influence your life.

Application essays can be e-mailed to luciana.musto@wilkes.edu or sent via campus mail to Alumni House, Attn: Luciana Musto. Please include your WIN. Essays must be received by noon on Friday, Oct. 9, 2020.
