Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Seeks Judges
The Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) are in search of judges for its
student competition on Saturday, Feb. 29. They expect over 800 students to present
this year. Please note: this is the first day of our spring break.
Who can sign up as a judge?
Any faculty, staff, student or professional who is highly involved in the STEM and social science areas and would like to volunteer their time and expertise.
What will you be judging?
Scientific research projects will be presented by some of northeastern Pennsylvania's best and brightest students in grades 7 through 12. Presentations are scheduled from 10:30 a.m. until about 1:45 p.m. A timeline of the day is below.
How do you sign up?
If you are interested, please sign up as soon as possible online. We highly encourage online registrations, but walk-ins are welcome once the online registration is closed.
When do I check in on Saturday, Feb. 29?
Judges are asked to check in at 9 a.m., before the judges breakfast in the Henry Student Center Ballroom. We will provide instructions and room assignments during breakfast.
General Day-of Timeline:
7 to 8 a.m. | Athlete presentations - Miller Room, Henry Student Center
8 to 10 a.m. | Student arrival/registration - Marts Center
9 to 10:15 a.m. | Judges breakfast - Miller Room, Henry Student Center
10:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. | Presentations throughout campus - All classrooms/labs
11 a.m. | Area college/university scholarship interviews - Chase Hall
4:30 to 7 p.m. | Awards ceremony - Marts Center
