Flu Confirmed on Campus

We have confirmed cases of flu at Wilkes. It is very important to take precautions to prevent the spread of flu on campus.

Washing your hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizer, covering your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze and discarding your tissues in the trash are all ways to limit exposure to germs.

Avoid being around people who are sick and avoid sharing drinks, cigarettes etc. with others.

The symptoms of the flu include:

  • high fever
  • dry cough
  • body aches
  • headache
  • chills
  • fatigue.
If you did not receive a flu shot, it is not too late to get one. Flu vaccines are available at most pharmacies and the Wilkes-Barre Department of Health 570-208-4283).

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at the Health and Wellness Services at 570-408-4730.
