Register to Get Healthy in October
Thank you to all who completed our recent wellness survey about the YMCA. Based on your feedback and strong interest in specific fitness activities, the Wellness Committee has worked with the YMCA staff to bring you the following Wilkes-only classes each week for the entire month of October:
Yoga on campus – Mondays at noon with a YMCA instructor
- Oct. 7 – Miller Room
- Oct. 14 – Marts Center Multi-Purpose Room
- Oct. 21 – Ballroom
- Oct. 28 – Ballroom
To accommodate onsite yoga instruction, a $10 instructor fee will be charged to all
participants to cover all four classes in October. Please be sure to bring a yoga
mat and $10 cash to the first class you attend.
Cardio/Strength Combo – Thursdays at noon in the YMCA Group Exercise Studio (second floor)

Since the cardio/strength class will be held at the YMCA, there is no charge to faculty
and staff who are members.
Class sizes are limited. So please register for the classes you plan to attend here: October Wellness Registration.
In order to continue offering Wilkes-only classes for us, a minimum attendance of 10 individuals is required on a regular basis. Attendance at these classes throughout the month of October will help us determine if classes will be offered in the future. If you would like the classes to continue, please be sure to register and attend!
As you may recall from the recent communication from the Human Resources department, all full-time employees who enroll in any University medical insurance plan starting Jan. 1, 2020 through Dec. 31, 2020, will receive equivalent monetary incentives for participating in one of our many wellness activities through the end of this year. So we encourage you to actively participate in this and other upcoming activities sponsored by the Wellness Committee.
