Support Student Success with Early Alert

Undergraduate faculty are reminded to take advantage of the Wilkes Early Alert to support student success and engagement in the learning process.

Early Alert makes it possible for faculty to provide “just-in-time” feedback to students, academic advisors and University College staff, so that critical academic and non-academic interventions and support can be provided. By using this tool, faculty can identify course-specific issues or concerns, offer recommendations for improving performance and connect students to appropriate resources while there is still time to successfully complete the class.

Unlike mid-term reporting, faculty only need to report on students who are presenting with attendance or performance concerns. Faculty teaching our newest students (first-year and recent transfer students) are especially urged to complete an Early Alert report about any student in need of a supportive intervention.

Early Alert works through Interact, the same system used to post mid-semester evaluations and final grades. Please visit the Early Alert channel in the Faculty Tools tab of the MyWilkes portal to submit a report or get more information.
