U.N. Lecture Scheduled for Nov. 5
Mr. Darko Mocibob will present "The United Nations and the Middle East Peace Process" at 4 p.m. on Tuesday,
Nov. 5, in the Miller Room.
Mocibob is Deputy Director of the Middle East Division in the Department of Political/Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations (DPPA-DPO), a position he has held since 2014. Prior to that he was Chief of Office in the Office of Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs in the U.N. Department of Political Affairs (DPA) from 2010. He served in several capacities as part of the UN’s Iraq Team from 1997, ending his time there in 2010 as a Senior Political Affairs Officer.
A native of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mocibob served as a Media Analyst to the NATO Implementation Force (IFOR) and Interpreter to the Force Commander for the U.N. Protection Force in Bosnia (UNPROFOR) from 1993 to 1997, after graduating and teaching at the University of Sarajevo Medical School in 1993.
