Support the University Police with a Donation for No Shave November
The Wilkes University Police Department will join police departments throughout the
nation for the No Shave November charity event.
No Shave November challenges participants to forgo shaving in order to provoke conversation regarding cancer awareness and raise critical funds for research and services to those impacted by cancer.
Chief Christopher Jagoe has authorized members of the Department to participate in this event and has waived the standard facial hair grooming policy to allow staff to grow out their facial hair in support of this national campaign.
To participate, UPD staff will be permitted to grow a well-groomed beard by making a donation to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute before Nov. 15. Between Nov. 1, and Nov. 30, staff members have the option to continue their fundraising efforts through family, friends and the public to raise additional money and earn the ability to keep their facial hair until Jan. 1.
This year, proceeds of No Shave November will go to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, a local, non-profit organization working to ease the burden of cancer in northeastern Pennsylvania. The organization is unique in that it is an independent, exclusively local entity. This means that they have the flexibility to respond directly to the evolving needs of the community.
Please accept our invitation to participate in this event by making a contribution to the cause and noting that you support Wilkes University Police Department for No Shave November.
You may also want to consider making a contribution in honor or memory of a friend or family member by furnishing the necessary information along with your contribution. The Institute will then send a letter informing the appropriate person of your thoughtfulness.
Checks should be sent payable to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute and sent to:
The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute
334 Jefferson Avenue
Scranton, PA 18510-4501
You can also donate online.
An investment in the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute can help provide important community and patient services to all citizens of northeastern Pennsylvania.
Thanks in advance for your support in this endeavor!
