UCOM Entrance and Pedestrian Bridge to Close

The next phase of the Neighborhood Enhancement Project will begin on Monday, May 20. The project, which includes new sidewalks, streetlights and landscaping, will beautify South Main Street and improve pedestrian safety, resulting in a more attractive downtown for students, faculty and staff.

Starting this Monday, May 20, the South Main Street entrance to UCOM will temporarily close. UCOM will be accessible via West South Street near the ROTC offices or via Starbucks during their normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The front entrance will be closed for approximately three weeks.

The pedestrian bridge connecting the parking garage to UCOM will also close on Monday. Pedestrian traffic should exit the parking garage on the ground floor, crossing at the Campus Gateway. The pedestrian bridge will reopen around Aug. 1. Accessible parking is available in surface lots around campus.

As always, please exercise caution and follow construction signage. Continue to monitor Today@Wilkes for project updates.

Thank you for your patience and support. If you have any questions, or wish to speak about this project in more detail, please contact Charlie Cary, executive director of facilities, at ext. 4553.
