Join Us for Family STEAM Night at the Sordoni Art Gallery
Know any young students curious about both art and science?
Join us for Family STEAM Night at the Art Block from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 19,
in the Sordoni Art Gallery parking lot.
Inspired by our current exhibition, Lit, which includes large-scale photography laced
with LED lights and fiber optics, Family STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
Art and Math) Night will feature free hands-on activities all about light! Drop-in
activity stations will feature projects that harness the power of light and include:
- Crazy Kaleidoscopes
- Shadow Drawing
- Light Pattern Boxes
- Rainbow Spectroscopes
- Natural Sun Prints
This event is free, and visitors of all ages are welcome to participate.
Be sure to check out the current exhibition; the gallery will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. Make a night of it: grab a free family
guide, tour the exhibition and learn all about light! Free refreshments will be served.
If it rains, we'll move the event to the lobby adjacent to the Sordoni Art Gallery
in the Karambelas building.
Please Note: South Main Street may be closed due to construction, and parking in the gallery lot
may be limited. Parking is free throughout campus after 4:30 p.m. For a map of alternate
parking options at Wilkes University, please visit https://wilkes.edu/about-
