Admissions to Host the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science

Wilkes and our Undergraduate Admissions office will be hosting the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) on Saturday, March 2, 2019This is the first Saturday of our spring break. As in previous years, there will be about 800 high school students who will register to attend this event.  

All classrooms and most labs on campus will be used the entire day, including rooms in Breiseth, Darte, Cohen, Kirby, Karambelas, Marts, Stark and UCOM.  Please remember to not schedule anything in any classrooms this entire day.  For a complete list of rooms, please email jessica.haczewski@ wilkes.edu.

There will be a few professional staff in each room with the high school students. Faculty, please lock up any materials you may not want to leave out as a precaution. Please note: Faculty are not required to be on campus, unless you sign up to be a judge.  

Timeline for the day:
7 to 8 a.m. — Athlete presentations in the Miller Room, Henry Student Center
8 to 10 a.m. — Student arrival/registration in the Marts Center
9 to 10:15 a.m. — Judges' breakfast in the Miller Room, Henry Student Center
10:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. — Presentations throughout campus (all classrooms/labs)
11 a.m. — Area college/university scholarship interviews in Chase Hall
4:30 to 7 p.m. — Awards ceremony in the Marts Center
