FYF to Hold Faculty Info Session

Wilkes faculty members: If you have considered teaching First Year Foundations for the fall but still haven't made up your mind, please attend the FYF Information session on Thursday, Feb. 7, in SLC 270, at noon, following the Full Faculty Meeting.

FYF courses are designed to be innovative, engaging and academically challenging courses for incoming students. With a cap of 19 students, each class can become a small community of support to encourage the growth and retention of our new students. Although each section must address diversity and critical thinking outcomes, plus at least two other general education outcomes of the instructor's choice, every section is unique.

This fall, we will be asking FYF instructors to try to avoid mid-day time slots (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), so that students will be more likely to get the FYF courses they really want. Why not give FYF a try?
