Parking Restricted on April 7 for Campus Events

Some parking restrictions will be in place on Sunday, April 7, due to several special events occurring on our campus. We strongly encourage attendees to arrive a little early to secure parking near your event.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Car Show will take place in the Henry Student Center parking lot. This very well-attended event will run throughout the day. To accommodate this student fundraising effort, the Department of Public Safety will close the Henry Student Center lot and the Passan lot at midnight on Sunday, April 7. We ask anyone who parks in these lots to move their cars to the South Main Street parking garage on Saturday, April 6, as we close and secure the area for this event. Lots will return to regular permit parking after 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 7.

The Nursing Induction Ceremony will be held at the Marts Gym at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 7. Recommended parking for this event will be in the lot next to Marts (274 South Franklin St.) the Barnum lot behind Miner-Moat or the UCOM parking lot. The South Main Street parking garage will also be open for parking all day. Metered on-street parking is free on Sundays.

Wilkes University Theatre presents the sentimental comedy, “The Dining Room,” at the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts. There will be a matinee show at 2 p.m. Recommended parking for this event will be in the UCOM lot on South Street and the South Main Street parking garage. Metered parking on streets is free on Sundays.

We hope the weather cooperates and look forward to enjoying a busy day on campus with those attending this weekend’s events.
