Wilkes Theatre Presents "Clybourne Park"

Wilkes University Theatre presents the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play "Clybourne Park" on Sept. 27, 28, and 29 at 8 p.m. with matinee performances on Sept. 29 and 30 at 2 p.m. at the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts.

Bruce Norris's searing play, "Clybourne Park," is loosely based on historical events that cover fifty years of racial and real estate history in Chicago, shining the racial spotlight on everybody, no matter where they live. The power of Norris’s scorching play, which won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for drama and the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play, is that the villains are not bizarre-looking monsters from the depths of Lake Michigan but ordinary people. "Clybourne Park" is a worthwhile evening of bitter satire that makes us laugh while it indicts us.

Admission is $10, $5 for students and seniors and free for all Wilkes students, faculty and staff with ID. Parking is available at the Henry Student Center along with handicapped accessible options. For more information, please call the box office at 570-408-4540.
