URGENT: Please Donate Blood

The American Red Cross has an  URGENT need for all blood types to give more life by donating blood or platelets this holiday season. Donors are needed in the weeks leading up to the holidays to help ensure blood is available for patients throughout the holiday season.  Blood and platelet donations decline from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day as people get busy with holiday activities and travel.

Wilkes University is a valued partner of the Red Cross helping save the lives of hundreds of patients each year!

Please help us by sharing and join us!

The Red Cross is the single largest provider of blood products in the U.S., supplying about 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply each year by collecting more than 13,000 donations every day to keep up with demand.

While local hospital needs are met first, as a national blood system, the Red Cross has a unique ability to help ensure all hospital patients throughout the U.S. have the blood they need, when and where they need it. Blood and platelet donors can feel confident that by donating blood through the Red Cross, they are helping to ensure that blood products are available for patients in more than 130 hospitals throughout the Penn Jersey and Northeastern Pennsylvania Blood Services Regions.

The Red Cross is the only blood services provider that also offers health and safety training, serves as a vital communication link between military personnel and their families, teaches disaster preparedness, and provides relief to victims of disasters.

Only because of YOUR support can we continue our lifesaving mission! Thank you with all our hearts!
