Conference Opportunity for service-learning and community engagement

Registration Open for the IARSLCE 2018 Conference

Registration is now open for the 2018 Conference! This year's annual research conference will be held July 18-20, 2018 in New Orleans at the JW Marriott.  Early registration runs through May 31.

This year's theme -- Just Research: Inclusivity and Intersectionality -- bridges IARSLCE's mission "to promote the development and dissemination of research on service-learning and community engagement" with one of the association's key guiding principles: to advance "research that examines the utility and impact of engagement within diverse communities."
Just Research is a double entendre relating the principles of IARSLCE that this conference is designed for presenting research with social impact.

The Detailed Schedule for the 2018 Conference is Here
Please visit our conference website for the schedule and a special FAQ for presenters.
Why Stay at the JW Marriott?

IARSLCE has contracted hotel rooms at the JW Marriott at a discounted rate on behalf of our conference attendees. If our contracted hotel room obligations are not met, we pay substantial penalty fees to the hotel. This will require us to increase registration rates in the future to cover such penalties. Plus, you will be at a fabulous hotel in the heart of the action in New Orleans at a great rate of $159/night! Please note that the Friday night of 7/20 is sold out, but there is availability for the nights of 7/17, 7/18, and 7/19. The conference closes at 11:15AM on Friday.
IARSLCE Hears...

A diverse team of civic actors asks you to complete this survey before May 21, 2018 that will help to develop an issue guide and to frame deliberative forums about the civic dimensions of higher education including service learning, deliberative discourse and community engagement. Terms are defined within the survey.
The team is planning the first associated forum on teh Civic Dimensions of Higher Education, followed by a call to action and group reflection at the Service Unites! conference in Atlanta. Register now and join us in session 299: "Deliberate About Civic Dimensions of Higher Education" on Tuesday, June 19 from 2-4 p.m. Future deliberations are expected to take place across the country.
