Call for Proposals for the Annual Women's and Gender Studies Conference
Proposals are now being accepted for the 2019 Wilkes University and King's College
Women's and Gender StudiesConference. Proposals are due Friday, Feb. 22, 2019 and
may be submitted online.
The theme is "New Narratives of Gender in the Media" and asks participants to consider how gender has influenced, changed in and been changed by various media platforms. The public sphere increasingly intersects with private lives and the consequences for sex and gender have been numerous. As in years past, we are happy to have presentations on a broad range of gender and social justice-related topics, which do not have to connect directly to the conference theme.
We invite students, faculty, staff and community members to participate in this conference. Session types include research presentations, panel discussions, poster presentations, video screenings and performance art (e.g., poetry slam, dramatic performance, dance). We also welcome presentations about service learning, community service and travel abroad opportunities.
For more information or questions about the conference please contact Professor Jennifer Thomas, director of Women’s and Gender Studies, at Jennifer.firstname.lastname@example.org.
