Expanding Parking at Wilkes
Welcome back to campus! Public Safety hopes you had a restful summer and extends an
additional welcome to our new students.
In addition to all the great work done over the summer to our buildings and Fenner Quadrangle, Facilities Management has been working fast and furiously to expand parking on and adjacent to campus. To accommodate as many cars as possible, we will be paving the parking lot to the rear of 116 South Main Street. This project is set to begin as early as this week.
The lot was closed on Monday, Aug. 27 for cleaning and paving. When the work is complete, the lot will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will be closed off hours and on weekends.
Please allow this message to serve as a gentle reminder that all cars parking on campus must display a valid Wilkes parking permit. Information on campus parking can be found on the Wilkes University website, by calling 570-408-PARK or emailing email@example.com. Vehicles not displaying a valid Wilkes parking permit will be ticketed and are subject to being towed from the lot at the owner’s expense.
Lastly, thefts from vehicles are a recurring problem on most college campuses. As a general safety practice, both here and away, make sure you lock your car doors and keep valuable property in a secure place. Items such as backpacks and packages are more secure when placed in the trunk of your car and out of sight.
