Early Alert Available
Undergraduate faculty are reminded to take advantage of the Wilkes Early Alert to
support student success and engagement. Early Alert allows professors to provide “just-in-time”
feedback to students, academic advisors, and to the staff in University College, so
that critical academic and non-academic interventions and support can be provided.
By using this tool, faculty can identify course-specific issues or concerns, offer
recommendations for improving performance, and connect students to appropriate resources
while there is still time to successfully complete the class.
Faculty teaching our newest students (first-year and recent transfer students) are
especially urged to complete an Early Alert report about any student who is in need
of a supportive intervention.
Early Alert works through Interact, the same system used to post mid-semester evaluations
and final grades. While the technology will be familiar, faculty can find step by
step directions in the My Wilkes web portal on the Faculty Tools tab. Please visit
the Early Alert channel in the Faculty Tools tab of the MyWilkes portal to submit
a report or for more information.
