"The Souls of Colored Folk" Presentation Rescheduled
The Souls of "Colored" Folk presentation by Venus Ricks has been rescheduled to Thursday,
March 2 at 11 a.m. in the Henry Student Center Ballroom. The presentation examines
the work of W.E.B. DuBois.
In 1903, W.E.B. DuBois penned The Souls of Black Folk. In this work, he debuted the concept of Double Consciousness as a means of characterizing the experience of people of color in the United States. This presentation will reflect on DuBois' work in today's context and the implications for race relations.
