Academic Advising Scholar to Speak on Campus
Dr. Thomas Grites, early pioneer of advancements in academic advising and founding
member of the National Academic Advising Association, will lead our advising in-service
this Friday, Aug. 18. Dr. Grites will focus on what he learned in the process of editing his recent book,
Beyond Foundations: Developing as a Master Academic Advisor.
The day will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. with lunch provided. Session topics include:
- What traits make a “master” advisor?
- Master Advisors Helping Transfer Students Succeed
- Ethical Issues Facing Academic Advisors
