John Anthony "Beno" Borzell Golf Tournament Benefits Students At Wilkes University and Wyoming Area High School

The Borzell family has presented Wilkes University with a check for $10,000 and awarded an additional $10,200 in scholarships to six Wyoming Area High School graduates. The gifts are proceeds from the 2017 John Anthony "Beno" Borzell Golf Tournament. The event, now in its seventh year, has raised $105,900 to date for scholarships and facilities that benefit students at Wilkes University and Wyoming Area High School.

Eleventh Annual Wilkes ASME Car Show at Wilkes University on April 23

The 11th annual American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Car Show at Wilkes University will be held on Sunday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held in the parking lot behind the Henry Student Center, 84 W. South St., Wilkes-Barre. The show is free for spectators. Those interested in participating may register a vehicle on the day of the event beginning at 8:30 a.m. The rain date is Sunday, April 30, 2017.

Wilkes University Hosts Engineering Olympics Event

The team from Hamburg Area School District from Hamburg, Pa., beat out seven other high school teams from throughout northeast and eastern Pennsylvania to take top honors in Wilkes University's annual Engineering Olympics. The 2017 event was held on April 7 in the Arnaud C. Marts Sports and Conference Center. The winning team's members will each receive a $1,000 scholarship annually for four years if they attend Wilkes University.

Wilkes University invites high school students to celebrate Earth Day at Earth and Environmental Science Day on Friday, April 21. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lawrence and Sally Cohen Science Center, 84 W. South St., Wilkes-Barre. Registration is from 9 to 9:15 a.m. in the Henry Student Center or can be done in advance by visiting www.wilkes.edu/eesday.
