Wilkes University Senior Kevin Schiel of Wyoming, Pa., Wins Award From Pennsylvania Consortium on Video Games

Wilkes University senior Kevin Schiel, of Wyoming, Pa., won the College Tabletop award at the Pennsylvania Consortium on Video Games at Harrisburg University, a statewide competition. Schiel, who is an integrative media major, developed "Planets: The Game," an innovative non-digital tabletop card game. He designed the cards for the game in his Integrative Media Projects 2 class.

Wilkes University Integrative Media Seniors Win Gold Awards At Regional American Advertising Awards

Wilkes University seniors, Kevin Schiel, of Wyoming,Pa., and Delmis Machado, of Berwick, Pa., won Gold Award Placement in the 2016-2017 American Advertising Awards - Student Division - AAF District Two. A Gold ADDY is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the category. Both are integrative media majors at Wilkes.

Exploring a career as a lawyer will be the focus when Wilkes University hosts Law Day on Tuesday, March 28. The keynote address, "Law 101," will be delivered at 9 a.m. by Ed Ciaramboli 1995 Wilkes graduate and partner at Fellerman & Ciaramboli.

The question of national immigration policy will be the focus when the lecture, "Borders Beyond the Wall: Immigration Policy Today and the Battles Ahead" is presented on Tues., March 21 at Wilkes University. The lecture will be delivered by Lina Newton, associate professor of political science at Hunter College, CUNY, in the Miller Room at the Henry Center, 84 W. South St., Wilkes-Barre, and is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society.
