FSA NEPA: Upcoming Events

Family Service Association of NEPA will be holding a Community Kick-off event at King's College on Thursday, October 25, 2018 featuring DJ Choices – an educational program that promotes opiate awareness with the use of popular music, lighting effects and stimulating videos. This program runs about 45 minutes followed by a Q&A and will be free and open to the public. We would be honored to have Wilkes students and faculty in the audience for this event and I am hoping that you can help me spread the word by passing along this information around campus.

This event serves as a kick-off to our Annual National Family Week Conference: A Community Built to Conquer Opioid Addiction, which will be held the following day, Oct. 26th, at Genetti's. Twelve workshops will be provided focusing on different levels of professional aspects of the opioid crisis, in addition to hearing from Alexis Johnson, our opening speaker, who will share her powerful story of addiction and long road to recovery. Our Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Rachel Levine, Secretary for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania & Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the Penn State College of Medicine. Continuing education credits will be offered and twenty resource tables will be open for participants to visit and obtain pertinent information. The conference is $30 per person or $15 per student.

Below are links to the event pages and I have attached flyers on both the kick-off event and the conference.
