Klein's Community Pharmacy PGY-1

The Klein's Community Pharmacy PGY-1 Residency program and it's forward-thinking leadership team are dedicated to creating outstanding graduates by offering challenging and rewarding opportunities designed to develop well rounded leaders in the profession of pharmacy. Residents in Klein's PGY-1 program will have the opportunity to flourish with learning experiences involving business management, marketing, innovative patient care initiatives, collaborative practice, compounding, medication therapy management, teaching, and quality improvement.

Here are a few examples of what our current resident has accomplished 6 months into our program:

-Construction and initiation of a Collaborative Practice Agreement focused on overall wellness and weight loss
-Completion of numerous transitions of care MTM for our patient's who have been discharged from a hospital
-Implementation of hazardous drug disposal guidelines and internal proactive pharmacy audits
-Taught multiple higher education lectures, including podiatry students at Kent State University
-Organized community service events, including a Christmas party for a local assisted living facility
-Precepted multiple pharmacy students P1-P4
-Staffed at a variety of practice sites, including retail, long term care, and compounding
-Managed and organized vaccinations for patients and supplied local physician offices during flu season
