In August, 2012, I was diagnosed and have been living with ALS, or commonly known as LOU GERHIG's DISEASE. Since then my wife and I have been Advocating for Patient Care and Research for the ALS Association Philadelphia Chapter, in Harrisburg and Washington DC. We were co-chairs of the first NEPA Walk to defeat ALS at PNC Field in May, 2016. I have been speaking to Nurses, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy students for the past few years hoping to educate and raise awareness of the realities of this disease.
