Julianna Evans of Jim Thorpe, Pa., Awarded Wilkes University's Jennifer Diskin Scholarship
Julianna Evans of Jim Thorpe, Pa., was awarded The Jennifer Diskin scholarship on June 21, 2019. The Jennifer Diskin scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated need and talent and a commitment to studying poetry. It is given in honor of alumna Jennifer Diskin who passed away after a brave struggle with cancer. Started by her family, poetry faculty members nominate students who are already in the program.
Evans is pursuing her master of arts in creative writing with a concentration in poetry at Wilkes University’s Maslow Family Graduate Program in Creative Writing. Evans is working with Wilkes creative writing faculty member Rashidah Ismaili Abubakr on her creative thesis.
