Wilkes University Pharmacy Students Host Weekly Radio Program About Medication Use
Wilkes pharmacy students, in conjunction with the university’s student-run radio station, will host a weekly talk show discussing various pharmacy topics. The program will air during fall and spring semesters on 90.7 WCLH from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays beginning Dec. 6.
Student pharmacists, Dylan Fox and Harrison Ferro, along with assistant professor of pharmacy practice, Thomas Franko, will host the program. Each week, a topic related to medication use and misuse will be addressed, including proper medication disposal, the opioid epidemic and how listeners can build relationships with their pharmacists. There will also be time for listeners to call in with their own questions. Listeners can call (570) 408-5909.
90.7 WCLH is an independent, specialty programming radio station operated by Wilkes students. It can be streamed online at www.wclh.org.
Founded in 1996, the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy is the region’s only school of pharmacy. The school develops pharmacists who will provide high quality health care and make meaningful contributions to the science and practice of pharmacy. The school awards the doctor of pharmacy degree, the primary, entry-level pharmacy practice degree in the United States.
