Wilkes University Hosts Blood Drive to Support Hurricane Relief Efforts
In the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, Wilkes University is supporting the American Red Cross in their efforts to replenish critical blood supplies. The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19 in the Henry Student Center Lounge, located on 84 W. South St. in Wilkes-Barre.
This joint effort of Wilkes University’s office of Civic Engagement, department of Public Safety and Student Government is a tremendous way to support those impacted by natural disasters. Blood resources have been depleted as resources are diverted to areas of need. Local donations are urgently needed.
This event is open to the public. To register, visit redcrossblood.org and enter WILKESU to schedule an appointment.
