Wilkes University Screens “Gerrymandering”, Hosts Panel Discussion with League of Women Voters on Nov. 28
Wilkes University will screen the 2010 documentary “Gerrymandering” on Nov. 28. Sponsored by the political science department at Wilkes University and the Wilkes-Barre Area League of Women Voters, the film explores the history of redistricting in the United States by both major political parties when drawing legislative maps. The screening begins at 7 p.m. in Breiseth Hall, 137-159 S. Franklin St., in room 107. A panel discussion with professor of political science, Thomas J. Baldino Ph.D., along with representatives from The the League of Women Voters and Fair Vote will follow the film.
“Gerrymandering” chronicles the California effort to fix the issues of redistricting by implementing an independent Citizens Commission. The film is written and directed by Jeff Reichert.
