Wilkes University Senior Kevin Schiel of Wyoming, Pa., Wins Award From Pennsylvania Consortium on Video Games
Wilkes University senior Kevin Schiel, of Wyoming, Pa., won the College Tabletop award at the Pennsylvania Consortium on Video Games at Harrisburg University, a statewide competition. Schiel, who is an integrative media major, developed “Planets: The Game,” an innovative non-digital tabletop card game. He designed the cards for the game in his Integrative Media Projects 2 class.
Associate professor Eric Ruggiero encouraged Schiel to submit his innovative card game, seeing the game’s and Schiel’s potential.
Planets is a strategy card game focused on planetary conquest where players can go head-to-head with your friends as you assume the roles of alien overlords in a race to seize the most planets.
The Pennsylvania Consortium on Video Games, or Let’s Play PA, showcases the creative talents of the state’s game developers and educational programmers. The statewide competitive was held in February. Fortune magazine ranked Pennsylvania the 10th most successful state for game development in 2015.
