Wilkes University Invites Local High School Students To Earth and Environmental Science Day on April 21
Wilkes University invites high school students to celebrate Earth Day at Earth and Environmental Science Day on Friday, April 21. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lawrence and Sally Cohen Science Center, 84 W. South St., Wilkes-Barre. Registration is from 9 to 9:15 a.m. in the Henry Student Center or can be done in advance by visiting www.wilkes.edu/eesday.
Students will experience presentations, activities and discussions on topics including climate, water quality and geoscience career opportunities. Participants will get the chance to check out the labs in the Cohen Science Center as well as have lunch with current students, faculty, staff and alumni.
High school teachers are encouraged to bring their class to the event for a great learning opportunity. Parents who attend with their children will be able to attend special presentations showcasing the admissions process, financial aid and life on campus.
Participants may park in the lot behind the Henry Student Center, 84 W. South St., or in the campus-parking garage, 148 S. Main St. There will be Wilkes University students at both parking locations who will provide parking passes and directions to the Henry Student Center.
