Wilkes University Presents an Overview on Immigration Policy on Oct. 4
Wilkes University will present a lecture on United States immigration policy by Steven A. Camarota, director of research at the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, D.C. The lecture will be held on Tues., Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. in Room 214 of the Arnaud C. Marts Center, and is free and open to the public.
Camarota holds a doctorate from the University of Virginia in public policy analysis, and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania. He has testified before Congress more than any other non-government expert on the economic and fiscal impact of immigration. For a number of years he was lead researcher on a contract with the census bureau examining the quality of immigrant data in the American Community Survey.
His research has been featured on the front pages of TheNew York Times, Washington Post and USAToday as well as many other media outlets. His articles have appeared in Public Interest, Social Science Quarterly, Chicago Tribune and National Review. He appears frequently on radio and television news programs including CNN, Fox News Channel, NBC Nightly News, ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, National Public Radio and PBS Newshour.
